Punjabi Virsa Arts & Culture Academy (Punjabi VACA)
Punjabi Virsa Arts and Culture Academy also called as Punjabi VACA is a non-profit organization primarily run by local youths.  The goal for this establishment is to create awareness to promote and preserve the Punjabi Culture not only within the community but also to take it to other communities as well.

PUNJABI VACA OFFICE INAUGRATED By
Punjabi Pop Star Sukhshinder Shinda
Punjabi VACA was founded by Nachdi Jawani Bhangra group who has been striving to encourage the preservation of the Punjabi culture since 2001.  This Bhangra group took Bhangra to unknown boundaries, in the midst of doing this the need for a place of learning and teaching of the Indian folk dance and culture became more prominent. They were constantly approached by students and parents showing their interests in Bhangra after watching their extravagant performances. In February 2005, Nachdi Jawani held the grand opening of Punjabi Virsa Arts and Culture Academy which is operating successfully. Finding it difficult to operate in a small facility where the demand for this academy was overwhelming, they found a need to relocate to a bigger location to accommodate the increased number of students showing interest. The new academy operates with two class rooms which are taught by 8 professional instructors and classes are held all day Saturday and Sundays. In total this academy has taught 750 students with a currant base of 300 students operating from three separate locations Brampton, Guelph and Scarborough.  PVACA holds classes for Bhangra, Gidha, art, instruments and turban tying lessons to individuals of all ages. Students enrolled in this academy also have the opportunity to perform in professional teams within their age group.
Our Kids Bhangra Team - TODDLERS
Every year PVACA holds picnics and galas for parents and students. The purpose of the Annual VACA picnic is for families to come together to enjoy a fun-filled day of traditional activities, food, and sports. The Annual VACA Gala however is an event organized to allow beginner students and professionals teams to show off there talents performing live amongst family and friends to bring in the New Year.

Punjabi Virsa Arts and Culture Academy is committed to provide today’s youth an opportunity to increase their understanding and knowledge of their culture to keep their roots alive.  Our goal is also to promote our culture to Punjabi and non-Punjabi communities to create an international awareness for our Proud heritage and Culture.
