      Punjabi Virsa Arts and Culture Academy consistently organizes events for the purpose of bringing the youth together to preserve and promote multiculturalism. Now for the second time Punjabi Virsa Arts and Culture Academy and Nachdi Jawani is holding its second North American Bhangra Competition featuring famous Punjabi singers known from all around the world. Professional Bhangra teams internationally will be competing for an opportunity to win up to $10,000.00 in cash prizes. Also, Federal, Provincial and Municipal members of the Government will be making an appearance at this year’s competition.

      This year, Groundshaker 2k8 will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 2pm in the Living Arts Centre Theatre. We envision Colleges, Universities and Professional teams to attend internationally from places such as California, Vancouver, New York, Michigan, Abbotsford etc. Pvaca and Nachdi Jawani’s reputation and the success of Groundshaker 2k6 have crazed teams internationally to have the opportunity to participate in this year’s competition. In Groundshaker 2k8 teams will be showcasing their talents to compete for the number one spot and be known for the winners of this extravagant competition.

      As a result of the growing interest in Bhangra this competition will allow for renowned Bhangra teams from North America to obtain the exposure to promote their talents and to honor their dedicated commitments to Bhangra and our culture.

 Internet exposure – International exposure with numerous websites and emails.

 Media exposure- Your business will be promoted through TV programs such as: SSTV on Rogers 626 channel 24/7, City TV, Rogers, Omni TV, Vision TV (Jee Aayan Nu, Watno Dur, Sanjha Punjab, Gaunda Punjab), ATN, etc.
Newspaper exposure- Your business will appear on daily and weekly print media such as: Punjabi Daily, Canadian Punjabi Post, South Asian, Brampton Guardian, Awaj, Hamdard, etc.
